The short version: Price Tracker & Wishlist has no accounts and no servers. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything the extension saves stays in your own browser, on your own device.

This policy explains what the Price Tracker & Wishlist browser extension ("the extension", "we") does with your information. By using the extension you agree to this policy.

1 What the extension stores

All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local:

Products you choose to track (title, price, product image URL, store name, and the product page URL).
Price history — data points recorded when you open a tracked product's page and during scheduled background price checks.
Your wishlists, tags, price alerts, and extension settings.

This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to any third party.

2 What we do not do

We do not require an account and we run no servers or backend.
We send no analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
We do not collect personal information, passwords, payment details, or your general browsing history.
We do not use ads, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
We do not silently inject affiliate links into your normal browsing.

3 Network access

The extension makes network requests only in one situation:

To refresh the price of products you chose to track, it fetches those specific product page URLs in the background. These requests go directly from your browser to the retailer (for example, Amazon or Flipkart) — never to us — and are made without your cookies or credentials.

No other network requests are made, and no data about you is transmitted anywhere.

4 Permissions & why they are needed

The extension requests the minimum permissions required for price tracking:

Permission	Why it's used
`storage`, `unlimitedStorage`	Save your tracked products, price history, wishlists, and settings locally on your device.
`alarms`	Schedule periodic background price checks for products you track, and clean up old price data.
`notifications`	Show optional desktop alerts for price drops, target prices reached, and restocks.
`activeTab`, `tabs`	Read the product on the page you're viewing, open the dashboard, and show the toolbar badge.
`contextMenus`	Provide right‑click options to save or track the current product.
Host access	Detect products on any online store you visit, and refresh prices for products you track. The extension only reads a product's title, price, and image — never other page content — and everything stays on your device.

5 Data retention & deletion

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete an individual product by un‑tracking it, or erase everything at once from Settings → Data → Clear all data in the extension. Uninstalling the extension also removes all of its stored data.

6 Children's privacy

The extension is a general shopping tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13.

7 Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
